Develpment Programs for New Grads
MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Within 6 months after their graduation, exceptional candidates interested in a managerial career track can take advantage of our Management Development Programs. Designed to accelerate learning and increase overall business skills and knowledge, participants will also receive critical project management experience.
- Program length can vary from 6 months to 36 months by department

FINANCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
In our Finance Management Program, you'll have the opportunity to pursue a career development path tailored to your needs. Spending three years in a dynamic and challenging working environment, you'll gain unique insights and experience across a number of roles in different sectors of our business. Areas of concentration could include learning first-hand about Decision Support, seeing how a multinational Treasury operates successfully, delving into Mergers & Acquisitions and/or contributing to a Group Reporting Team responsible for analyzing and communicating our financial performance.
- Program length varies by opportunity and is currently only offered in our Regional Headquarters in Greensboro, NC
- Typically we look for students graduating with a bachelors or masters in finance or accounting, but candidates with other backgrounds may be considered if they have a high interest in the finance industry
- CPA and/or other professional accounting designation (or plans to complete) is a plus
SUPPLY CHAIN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - CROP PROTECTION
This two-year program is designed for highly motivated individuals with a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, science, agriculture or business who are interested in a career in Supply Chain Management. Participants will experience a well-rounded training program as well as rotational assignments in: Plant Operations; Supply Planning; Field Sales; Technology & Products; and Formulation HSE / QA.
- Locations include our Regional headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as plant sites and district sales offices around the U.S.
- Candidates should be flexible and may be required to relocate as part of the program
- A high level of ethics and integrity, along with excellent computer skills, communication skills and desire to learn are essential
- Candidates must also have demonstrated leadership abilities and be results oriented
SUPPLY CHAIN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - SEEDS
Individuals interested in a career in seed production can apply for our Supply Chain Management Trainee Program. Lasting between 18-24 months, this program offers rotational assignments in: Seed Opeartions-Plant Production; Supply Planning, Logistics & Forecasting; Production Research; Engineering-Technology and HSE.
- Participants may have the opportunity to work internationally as part of this program
COMMERCIAL SALES OPERATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
As a member of this program, you'll work with our Sales and Marketing teams gaining a unique insight into our customer needs and how we design competitive strategies and customer offerings. You'll be exposed to a wide range of projects and areas that could include shaping product strategies, conducting market research, launching new products and advancing ongoing customer relationship management.
Participants can expect to:
- Join approximately 3500 other team members who work in sales and marketing at multiple sites around the world
- Provide value added services to 15-20 targeted accounts within one of our three main divisions - Seeds, Crop Protection, or Flowers
- Assure proper product use by highlighting product features and benefits, promoting disease identification, scouting, application timing, hosting grower/retail meetings, and following up on sale confirmations
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to achieve sales objectives and identify opportunities for sales growth
Requirements include:
- Flexibility - You may be required to relocate as part of the program
- Most sales and marketing employees within Syngenta have an undergraduate degree and many have either an MBA or other masters degree
DEVELOPMENTAL SALES REP PROGRAM
This program offers the critical knowledge, training and experience to help prepare sales reps for their first position in either our Crop Protection or Seed Divisions. Depending on individual experience and business need, participants will spend between 6-18 months learning our business and developing the necessary sales skills and technical expertise to be a strong business partner to our customers. Individual assignments will vary, but all participants in the Developmental Sales Rep Program will:
- Provide value added services to targeted accounts. Each rep will work with 15 - 20 targeted accounts within the core fungicide or seeds geography based on district manager agreement
- Assure proper product use by highlighting product features and benefits, promoting disease identification, scouting, application timing, hosting grower/retail meetings, and following up on sale confirmations
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to achieve sales objectives and identify opportunities for future growth
Requirements include:
- Flexibility - You may be required to relocate as part of the program
- A degree from either an undergraduate or masters level program within a business, agribusiness, agronomy, or other agricultural sciences discipline
